职位描述
General Summary of Position:
Describe, in a few sentences, the purpose of the job and a brief overview of the position.
The Remote Systems Administrator is a Desktop Support position which manages desktop-related support issues; interfaces with end-users and assists the IT organization in troubleshooting of server and network components.
This position will allow for participation in global projects, providing an opportunity for the individual to work with colleagues from around the world.
The Remote Systems Administrator position will require on-call support.

Major Responsibilities:
• Provide help desk support.
• Responsible for monitoring backups, network connectivity and overall server maintenance and documentation.
• Provides technical support to internal desktop systems.
• Installs, configures, and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, and servers in a heterogeneous environment.
• Maintains password security, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment.
• Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
• Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
• May conduct training programs designed to educate an organization’s computer users about basic and specialized applications.
• Support local and remote users on Windows / UNIX platforms.Participate in global projects and initiatives, taking the lead on projects and problems when requested or as appropriate.
• Works with vendors and manufacturers to maintain up to date support and systems versions.

Contribution & Initiative:
• By coordinating, diagnosing, and troubleshooting incoming employee calls, provides support services to employees with technical problems and information technology issues involving desktop, laptop, or network services from local personnel or from employees using network remote access.
• Responsible for timely resolution of problems or escalation on behalf of customer to appropriate technical personnel.
• Supports and maintains effective relationships with users.
• Participates in Developing, documents, and implements standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines relating to remote IT support.
• Must have strong technical skills, the ability to perform several tasks simultaneously, and good communications skills. The individual must learn quickly and adapt to a changing environment and be eager to accept new responsibilities. Experience in system administration is required.

Complexity, Independence, Judgement & Accountability:
• Individual must be capable of supporting a large number of employees with desktop support to include troubleshooting, repair and/or configurations on work stations and peripherals.
• Knowledge of Win XP, 2000 desktop applications, PC & printer hardware repair, Microsoft certifications, A+ Certified, software, operating systems, network systems, LAN/WAN, telephone system installation and maintenance, customer service is required.

Leadership & Influence:
• Must demonstrate a positive influence towards colleagues and business associates. Individual must proactively support policies, processes and practices.
• Can be a good team player

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• Good command of English in reading, writing and speaking and native Chinese speaker.
• 3 to 5 years experience in system administration, network management and user support.
• Educated to University degree level, preferable to have MCSE, or equivalent by experience.
• Cisco CallManager System knowledge or experience is advantageous.
