* Job Description
We are looking for Principal Software Engineer to work in the platform group in EMC Content Management & Archiving (CM&A) division, responsible for developing state of the art enterprise search products. Enterprise search is the core engineering group and aims to create next generation, highly scalable and robust enterprise search platform. In your capacity, you will have an opportunity working with world class architects, engineers to develop the cutting-edge technologies. We promote a learning and innovative environment. This is technology leadership position and a great opportunity for highly-motivated individuals to advance to next level
* Job Responsibilities
Working with product managers to help define feature requirements
Working full lifecycle of product development including design, implementation and testing
Working with architect to validate designs through walk-through, prototypes, and unit testing
Working with QA in designing and implementing integration and stress/performance tests
Mentoring team members with hands-on technical suggestions
* Qualifications
The following experience, skills, and attributes are required:
7+ years of progressive experience in complex software system design and development in a product development group.
Sound knowledge of computer science fundamentals, especially good understanding of algorithms/theories relevant to search engines
In-depth understanding of object oriented design & programming with Java/C++
Solid development experience in building highly scalable and robust distributed system.
Experience in enterprise search technologies, e.g. Autonomy IDOL, K2, Ultraseek, FAST, IBM OmniFind? , or Lucene/Nutch
Know well XML technologies, such XSLT, XQuery, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
* Desired skills
Experience in search engine internals as well as high performance full-text system
Experience in enterprise content management |
