Project Description:



The Perl Harness SE in Teradata SQL Lab will support and develop large distributed job processing system, multi-threaded execution framework and pluggable drivers.  The SE will apply Object-Oriented Perl to write asynchronous and multi-threaded code that executes in distributed systems.  The team in China is part of a bigger multi-country SQL Lab team with engineers and architects in US and India.



Specific Responsibilities Include:



•          Design and develop solutions that are high-performing and extendable

•          Use agile development processes to do software development to a successful outcome

•          Be able to work within a quality and configuration Management process

•          Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

•          Demonstrate good teamwork skills as well as individual leadership



Qualifications:



•          3+ years of experience with Perl, experience with Object-Oriented Perl preferred

•          Development experience with POE (Perl Object Environment) a plus

•          Development experience with distributed programming or framework a plus

•          Strong ANSI SQL or database knowledge a plus

•          Bachelors or higher degrees in technology-related fields



Preferred Qualifications:



•          Development Experience within Agile environments

•          Excellent technical documentation skills

•          Masters or PhD degrees

Position 2 : SQL - SQL Lab - Data Generator - Software Engineer




Project Description:



The Data Generator SE in Teradata SQL Lab will undertake advanced database query optimization research, apply database internal knowledge, and create customizable data and skew generation algorithms from given data demographics.  An ideal candidate would have experience with in-depth database performance tuning or data generation algorithms or data skew research. The team in China is part of a bigger multi-country SQL Lab team with engineers and architects in US and India.

•          Use agile development processes to do software development to a successful outcome

•          Be able to work within a quality and configuration Management process

•          Masters or higher degrees in technology-related fields

•          3+ years of experience

Position 3: SQL - SQL Lab - Data Modeling Software Engineer


Project Description:



The SQL data modeling SE in Teradata SQL Lab will develop universal schema, logical and physical data models, and queries that represent complex enterprise DW workload for “real-life” industries.  The SE will research “best-practice” EDM and industry models, analyze complex BI and data mining queries, and generate representative query patterns to encapsulate “real-life” DW behaviors. The team in China is part of a bigger multi-country SQL Lab team with engineers and architects in US and India.



Specific Responsibilities Include:



•          Design and develop solutions that are high-performing and extendable

•          Use agile development processes to do software development to a successful outcome

•          Be able to work within a quality and configuration Management process

•          Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

•          Demonstrate good teamwork skills as well as individual leadership



Required Qualifications:



•          Strong understanding of data modeling and ANSI SQL syntax

•          Solid understanding of database query optimization

•          BI or data mining Tools experience preferred (have knowledge about the queries tools generated)

•          Teradata knowledge a plus, certified Teradata Masters will be given priority in consideration

•          Familiarity with a programming language (C, C++, Java, or Perl) a plus

•          Development experience with database kernel features a plus

•          DW implementation project experiences with multiple industries a plus

•          Bachelors or higher degrees in technology-related fields

•          3+ ears of experience

Position 4 : SQL - SQL Lab - Harness Software Engineer





Project Description:



The SQL Harness SE in Teradata SQL Lab will apply advanced database concepts to develop SQL drivers and Transformer modules to programmatically alter incoming complex SQL queries to target specific database behaviors.  The SE will research database topics, apply database internal knowledge, and program in Object-Oriented Perl to develop pluggable extensions to distributed database execution frameworks. The SQL Generator SE in Teradata SQL Lab will apply advanced database concepts to develop algorithms to prune the possible query execution paths of database optimizer, including but not limited to compiling complex SQL to database internal representation, converting complex query patterns to representative SQL syntax, and creating dynamic SQL patterns.  The SE will undertake advanced database query optimization research, apply database internal knowledge, and develop SQL Generator application. The team in China is part of a bigger multi-country SQL Lab team with engineers and architects in US and India.

The team in China is part of a bigger multi-country SQL Lab team with engineers and architects in US and India.





Specific Responsibilities Include:



•          Design and develop solutions that are high-performing and extendable

•          Use agile development processes to do software development to a successful outcome

•          Be able to work within a quality and configuration Management process

•          Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

•          Strong Java programming skills, experience with Eclipse Plug-in a plus

•          Solid Understanding of ANSI SQL desired

•          Understanding of database query optimization a plus

•          3+ years of experience

• Understanding of database query optimization a plus
• Understanding of Perl a plus
• Teradata knowledge a plus, certified Teradata Masters will be given priority in consideration
• Bachelors or higher degrees in technology-related fields
• 3+ years of experience
