/etc/name_to_major出错导致机器panic?

早上朋友的一个机器死了，reboot后察看日志。

可能是什么原因？ 那位能仔细描述下/etc/name_to_major 的意义？能手工编辑这个文件(把重复的部分del掉) 吗？ 这个文件是每次重起自动生成吗?

   记得SUN SCSA中有一道题就是这个问题，问新加了硬件设备后，使用devfsadm -C配置过，哪些文件件会更改，应该包括/etc/path_to_inst和/etc/name_to_major。所以这个文件使用reboot -- -r重启后，如果硬件有变化，文件会自动更新的。
