We are seeking a senior Product Manager with strong track record in product planning and management to join the team. This senior Product Manager will be a key part of the force in driving Yahoo’s next generation communication products.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with multi-functional teams to elicit, understand, rationalize and prioritize requests for new functionality for our next generation communication products.
Work with other functional areas to gather intelligence on competitive offerings and new industry trends and synthesize competitive findings
Understand Yahoo! core communication products and the related market and competition landscape, define the product roadmap and strategies
Develop and drive product management and planning process for our key communication products
Communicate and evangelize the group’s product strategy to key stakeholders
Explore new business and product opportunities
Minimum Requirements
Experience of generating product concepts that add significant improvements to existing products
In-depth knowledge on real-time consumer communication products and markets
Passion for creating world-class business solutions that enable high-performance online and communication application platforms
Proven ability to work with cross-functional groups and drive decision making
Strong customer orientation and ability to build rapport
Great ability in identifying and seizing key business opportunities and turning such opportunities into reality
8+ years experience in building global products
5+ years product management experiences in online and consumer application platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English
Preferred Job Qualifications
MBA or MS in Computer Science or related field
Experiences of living and working in the US, and working experience in an international corporation

Responsibilities:
Work closely with user experience designers, product managers, and other engineers in a development environment that is highly collaborative. Exercise innovation in support of UI design and heuristics through your expertise in server and client side web development to enhance the overall user experience. Responsible for developing production-level code as well as proof-of-concepts and prototypes.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with PHP
- Solid competency with LAMP stack
- Prior experience with large scale, high volume systems
- Good, clean, fast, and quality code that thinks a few moves ahead
- A disciplined approach to design/architecture, development, documentation and maintainability
- Self-management in the code-test-debug cycle
- At least three years software development experience, with experience of coming up design of non-trivial features on your own
- A familiarity with a wide variety of software development methodologies, tools, languages and approaches

Preferable Job Qualifications:
- Proven expertise across a broad spectrum of Web 2.0 technologies: DHTML, Ajax/JavaScript.

We are seeking software engineers with strong backgrounds in system engineering and information retrieval to build and improve our query processing pipeline, entity and keywords detection platform, solving architecture design and performance problems. The individual will have the opportunity to work with the world-class scientists and engineers in United State, China, and other locations, focusing on projects that have global influence.
The candidate should be able to scope and define undefined problems using intuition, common sense, relevant data, strong academic knowledge of Computer Science (algorithms, data structures, etc), and software development experience. The candidate should be able to analyze the existing system, make and implement recommendations for improving overall design, scalability, performance, and modularity of the system without compromising the functional capabilities provided by the system. Academic knowledge and experience in web information retrieval, entity detection, keywords extraction, natural language processing and machine learning a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Solid object-oriented programming experience
* Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
* Proficiency in programming and data management
* Proficiency in C++
* Strong coding and debugging skills
* Experience designing and architecting high performance systems
* Proficiency in UNIX/Linux tools and utilities
