Windows Virtualization - Systems Engineer
Position Description   
Morgan Stanley has embarked upon a major firm wide initiative involving the transformation of their desktop paradigm. The underpinnings of this initiative rely on several virtualization technologies – with those from Citrix and VMWare being most prevalent at the moment. As such, the candidate should have a very strong Citrix XenDesktop/Citrix XenApp background as well as possess a working theoretical knowledge of VMWare ESX technologies. They should also have an established Infrastructure Engineer track record and be able to readily demonstrate their ability to resolve complex technical issues within a global Windows environment. Furthermore, the candidate must have several years experience of working in a large scale enterprise environment and be capable of working both as a member of a global team as well as being able to work under their own initiative as required.   

Skills Required   
TECHNICAL
• A minimum of five years of solid hands on experience designing/implementing enterprise scale Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop solutions.
• A minimum of five years of solid hands on experience designing/implementing enterprise scale Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, Terminal Services, IIS, Server OS, etc).
• Exposure to a broad cross-section of technologies and disciplines including networking, Wintel architectures, and storage.
• Solid hands on experience architecting, configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing and managing the following technologies: Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop, Windows Server 2008 R2, Microsoft App-V, Active Directory/Group Policy Objects, and VMWare ESX 4i.
• Thorough understanding of the ICA protocol and all requisite XenApp/XenDesktop infrastructure.
• Scripting experience in one or more of the following languages: C#, ASP.NET, PowerShell, or VBScript
• Ability to write clear technical reference documentation and runbook documentation
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with both internal customers and external vendors is essential.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, computer information systems, or computer engineering.
• Current Citrix, Microsoft, or VMWare certification(s)

• Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
• Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 experience, SQL Server Reporting Services
• AppSense Management Suite – in particular, Performance Manager, Environment Manager, and Application Manager
• VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)
• Windows infrastructure load testing experience via automated testing tools
• Working knowledge of PC and server hardware technologies including server blades, thin clients and HPC workstations
• Working knowledge of Citrix EdgeSight
