也可以用VCS, Oracle RAC搭建Cluster on Linux

我现在公司用的就是Veritas VCS for Linux, Oracle 10g RAC.
极力推荐使用Oracle 10g RAC, 可以在不同platform(Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX)上面搭建Cluster
因为Oracle推出OCFS (Oracle Cluster File System)

两个问题存在于RAC中.

1. RAC不是一个gernal HA cluster, 专门为Oracle 设计，包括 需要用到的ASM, 还有cluster自己的cache fusion ，如果我要保护的是app, RAC是管不到的。
2. 价格昂贵是限制其扩大使用领域的另外一个主要因素，很多情况下用第三方的gernal HA cluster配合做出Oracle failover HA cluster已经足够了.

oracle 10g RAC可以做出SERVICE来维护其他的AP，其实ORACLE 10G RAC的cluster是买trucluster的，我们已经在自己的生产上做出几个SERVICES来管理其他的AP
当然这是针对大公司，项目比较大来说

Any reference information that introduction Oracle Database 10g RAC solution for customized applicatioin?

IMHO, Oracle has released two solutioins with RAC capability:

1. Oracle Database 10g RAC,  to protect concurrent accesssing RDBMS for high availability and scalibility.

2. Oracle Application Server 10g RAC, to protect Oracle App Server(oracle java app).

I don't think so that Oracle 10g RAC is from Trucluster, actually,  i never heard that our Trucluster has been acquired by any company.

From the technical point of view : Oracle RDBMS 10g RAC is just a "databae cluster solution" , no unique gernal clusterwide filesystem, no operating system based cluster system for 3rd and home grown applications. They are not in the same market.

i'm still there and buddy, your opinion about oracle 10g RAC from trucluster is because they acquired it is wrong.

As i metioned, Oracle has learnt more from it, but it is pretty different .
