总是有很多好东西
但是用 web browser 来浏览实在是太痛苦了
没办法，机器上没有 evolution 或者类似的东西，不是自己的机器。可以用 Outlook Express 来临时收取邮件列表吗？
1. perl 的 package 要重建，这只是某人的计划，没耐心看他们怎么商量重写 spec 了。发起人在邮件中表示，大家应当使用 bugzilla 来合作，为每个 spec 设立一个条目然后依次解决
2. Roland Käser 表示应当在 fc4 中支持 kernel-2.4-xenU，这样可以支持比较老的发行版例如 redhat，从而支持老版本的 oracle 等软件。没有人支持他，因为维护一个内核并不是简单的编译而已。于是他决定自己动手丰衣足食。也许会进入 fedora extra (是不是说，只有在这里混个脸熟，软件要进入 fedora extra 才会容易啊？)
3. stateless 是做什么的？感觉它是唯一由 fedora 自行发起并进行的项目似的。究竟是为了什么也搞不清楚。不过看着

，似乎因为受 fc4 进度影响，项目几乎没有进展。几位都说是为了这个项目才加入 f-d-l 的，但是没想到什么也做不了(?) 也就是说，正如 linuxfans 的那份总结一样，没有一个人牵头来担负最大的压力，并且拿出可用的代码来吸引开发者，那么一个项目很难成功。由此想到了可怜的 freeway 还有 fedora 的文档。主要原因就是文档的目录制定之后，全部下放了，导致质量无法控制……

不过后者实在是无趣得多，对我们却似乎更重要一点。我会坚持在看完新闻和邮件列表之后，来这里更新一下吗？我怎样劝说 fedora/redhat @ linuxsir 的兄弟们来一起做这些事情？
6. 与 selinux 有关的两条命令 restorecon -R -v 和 chcon -t texrel_shlib_t ，还有一个配置文件 /etc/selinux/targeted/contexts/files/file_contexts/local，用于为某些需要 execmod 属性的 po 文件来设置安全标记。他们默认用的是 enforce, targted
7. 一个家伙用 ATrpms 仓库的软件包升级系统，然后发现找不到某个文件。我觉得 ATrpms 的管理者脑子有问题，既然是在为 fedora 做软件包，为什么要做 core packages 并且要故意与 rawhide 不兼容呢？在 linuxsir 的那份 apt sources.list 中，不得不把它单独拿出来警告，但是似乎并没有人关注那份列表。无所谓了，用户本来就不多。骗自己说 linux 用户非常多，是在打自己嘴巴—— 到论坛上混几日，全中国的 linux 用户都认识遍了。论坛上几乎见不到用 linux 做正经事的人，编程，服务器，排版计算等等科学工具，全都是我这样的闲人…… 言归正传，就连 fedora-test-list 的人也要苦恼万分，(I did not suggest that, and I do not suggest that.

want.) 偏偏论坛上有好几位用 rpm --force --nodeps 装好了新版本的软件用不成，又在想办法降级的。其实很简单，找到一个好仓库，apt -f install 或者 yum dist-update 就可以了，但是 rpm 的版本更新导致 apt 无法使用，yum 也总是卡住挂起：垃圾啊……
8. 发现

的速度比这里要快，并且漂亮，还支持论坛加密。我最想要的几个功能，安全连接，文章和论坛的加密和签名，对发表评论人员的身份进行控制，文章与评论的打包下载，这里都没有。百合会根据身份来决定是否添加 "修改文章" 和 "删除评论" 的链接，也可以做到上述的那些控制，其他所有 blog 系统都没有这样的方便。ZeeGee 等等百合技术组的牛人啊…… 能把百合做成顺手好用的典范，不容易啊…… 你见过一篇帖子长达 300k 的吗？百合就可以，而 blog.edu 的只要超过三万字就不行了…… 百合的速度还可以暴快无比…… 不过无论怎样，chinaunix 给我的感觉已经很好了，但愿能早点弥补这些缺陷。现在还得自己添加 "修改文章" 的链接……晕! CU 是技术很强的地方啊……
9. 有人提到了 osnews 那个减少软件包依赖性的
问题
。kde 的依赖关系才是乱七八糟！不过用 --as-needed 连接时，会将这些依赖性进行整理。不知道 fc3 会怎样做。在新版 pkg-config 中添加了两个参数，用于计算 dependency，不知道和这次讨论有没有关系？按照讨论中的说法，这种做法会影响到使用插件结构的应用程序，例如 apache，需要保证所引用的库的一致性，以及运行时全局变量的一致性。(We had all sorts of problems with Apache and OpenSSL in this arena:
if httpd was not linked aganist -lssl -lcrypto, when mod_ssl, or any
particular PHP extension using OpenSSL, was reloaded during a graceful
restart, you risked getting libssl.so unmapped but not libcrypto.so,
depending on the direction of the wind.  This caused havoc because some
global variables in libcrypto would not get reinitialized, but those in
libssl.so would.  Not fun.
So when I link httpd using -lssl -lcrypto, despite the fact that httpd
itself does not use any symbols from those libraries, I *must* get an
httpd with DT_NEEDED of libssl and libcrypto to ensure both stay mapped
for the lifetime of the process.  That's why use of --as-needed must
only be done as directed by the application.
In general if I have a library libfoo whose ABI is dependent on the
library of another library libbar, it is not safe to presume that just
linking my program baz against just "-lfoo" means that baz is immune to
ABI changes in libbar, just because it uses no symbols from it.  (since
a structure or type change might propagate through)
So again, in that case, the separation between dependent libraries which
affect the library ABI and those which don't must be driven by the
library authors on a case-by-case basis; the tools can just offer an
interface so that the library author can express the distinction.
There was discussion on the libtool list about how to do this a while
back but I don't think anything has been done yet.
