Linux BSP Senior SW engineer
Position description
This position is responsible for developing and delivering Linux device driver for Freescale i.MX chips and reference design platforms. The engineer will work under Freescale MAD Linux BSP (Board Support Package) team in ShangHai.
Responsibilities
• Develop Linux device drivers on Freescale i.MX chips with product level quality required.
• Develop reference Linux platforms by integrating i.MX BSP into different Linux open source platforms like Android, Ubuntu and Chrome etc so as to speed up customers’ production on Freescale i.MX chips
• Review i.MX specs, give feedback, estimate effort and define component requirement.
• Analyze and resolve difficult system issues.
• Profiling/optimizing system and driver performance.
• Write and review documents for developed software components.
• Active and effective support to customers.
• Contribute to upstream i.MX BSP codes to Linux kernel open source community.
• Analyze and define new Linux BSP module and Linux platform requirements.
• Lead platform SW development on new i.MX chips.
Requirements
• Minimum bachelor degree in computer science or electronic engineering
• Minimum 3 years experiences in embedded Linux development required (Freescale i.MX Linux BSP knowledge/expertise preferred)
• Strong programming skills on C and assembly language.
• Strong programming skills on Linux script languages is a plus
• Strong hand on experience on Linux device driver development
• Familiar with Linux kernel
• Experience with ARM MCUs is desired (Freescale i.MX silicon knowledge/expertise preferred)
• Experience with GIT is desired.
• Experience with Power Management IC Linux device driver development is a plus (Freescale Power Management IC knowledge/expertise preferred)
• Experience with Linux open source code project is a plus
• Good at problem analysis and resolving.
• Ability to assist in troubleshooting hardware design problems
• Good communication skills and team working experience
• Good oral and written English skills
