Why Does SRC A9002000 Occur?
During a CISC-RISC transition, CISC device configuration objects CTL01 and DSP01 are restored to the new RISC machine. The system is in Debug Mode the entire time and does not seek to use them. System value QIPLTYPE is set back to 0 during the cumulative IPL (switching system back to Normal Mode), and the system attempts to vary on CTL01 and DSP01. If there are differences between the configuration objects and the actual hardware (especially if the controller types are different), the system will not align the logical resource (CTL01 controller description) with the physical resource (the IOP). If the system does not know which IOP CTL01 is to use, the IPL with fail with SRC A9002000.
How is it Resolved?
1 Perform a Manual IPL from the 'B' side.
2 At the IPL or Install the System screen, choose '1' to perform an IPL <ENTER>;.
3 At the IPL Options screen, enter a 'Y' for Define or change system at IPL <ENTER>;.
4 From the Define or Change the System at IPL menu, select option 3 (System value commands) <ENTER>;.
5 Select option 3 (Work with system values) <ENTER>;.
6 Change QIPLTYPE to '2' (known as debug mode).
7 F3 past any other screen or menus until the IPL has completed.
8 On the back of the AS/400 or ISeries 400 system, find the physical location of the console (for example, frame ID 1, card position 4A).
9 Issue the WRKHDWPRD command, then choose option 5 (Change description label locations).
10 Find the card position on the Change Description Label Locations screen (for example, 4A), then type 2 <ENTER>;.
11 Place a '1' next to CTL01 <ENTER>;.
12 Issue the WRKSYSVAL QIPLTYPE command <ENTER>;.
13 Change system value QIPLTYPE back to '0'.
