FM Production Support Team Lead

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Production Service Support (PSS) team is responsible for the global support of all major and mission critical applications used by Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Financial Markets (FM). The role would require the individual to manage a 24*7 PSS team, based in China, for FM’s users spread over 23 countries.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

•        Manage teams across 24 * 7 shifts.
•        Resource management and allocation; including financial budgeting and forecasting to meet business needs in supporting applications in different time zones.
•        Responsible for ensure the stability of production environments.
•        Act as a facilitator to engage and coordinate between different support teams, stakeholders, both internally and externally, as well as SCB’s Service Management team to resolve complex issues and outages.
•        Proactively manage application incidents and providing regular updates to Senior Management on request.
•        Manage and coordinate with internal teams on recurring issues and ensuring long-term resolution.
•        Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all major issues
•        Responsible to ensure that the PSS is in compliance with the correct escalation procedures during outages.
•        Actively participating in change management processes to ensure minimal impact to production due to upcoming changes.
•        Understanding Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Operational Level Agreements (OLA) between different stakeholders and follow the escalation procedures to ensure minimal breach in these service levels.



SELECTION CRITERIA

Experience/Skills Required:

•        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
•        Prior experience in systems and support in Investment Banking is a MUST
•        Prior experience in managing support teams both local and virtual is a MUST
•        Familiar with ITIL Service Desk processes (Incident, Problem and Change Management)
•        Effective in communicating internationally and used to working closely with customers
•        Ability to work under pressure and deliver excellent results.
•        Ability to multi-task and work across different applications supported within FM
•        Strong team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
•        Must be a quick self learner and possess ability to work remotely and independently.


Demonstrated proficiency in the following:

•        Unix  
•        Oracle Database (9i or higher)
•        Sybase
•        SQL and PL/SQL
•        Scripting languages
•        Knowledge of multi tier systems (2 tier and 3 tier)
•        Knowledge of Networks
•        Knowledge of Web based technologies
                    
Experience/Skills Preferred:

•        Candidates with experience in Java programming, ETL or Webmethods would be highly preferred.
