Job Description – Platform Software Lead/Consultant Software Engineer
Data Domain is the Market Leader in De-duplication disk storage solutions. As a Platform Software team lead, this candidate will work on complex technical design problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Ideal candidate will enjoy a fast paced, technically challenging environment working as an expert on the core subsystems of leading edge de-duplication Storage solutions provided by Data Domain.

Responsibilities’:


•Work with marketing, program management, quality assurance other development teams to define, design and review Platform requirement and specification.
•Interaction with Operation Team and internal/external vendors at making and qualifying the platform software requirement.
•articipate in full development cycle, from design to qualification and customer support.
•Help in making critical technical decisions that may directly impact the DD brand-name and revenue.
•Manage project expectations and ensure the DD platform software feature development to meet timelines with right quality.
Qualifications:

•A broad and deep knowledge of Linux/Unix operating system technology and experience with contemporary software engineering principles.
•Excellent C and shell (shell, perl, etc) programming skills on Unix/Linux.
•Clear knowledge on u-boot, bootloader and Linux/Unix boot sequence is highly preferred.
•Experience of Intel BIOS, BMC, and IPMIv2.0 on x86 system is highly preferred.
•Experience in designing and developing enterprise server is highly preferred.
•Experience of working with X86 server vendors and operation team in dealing of platform qualification is highly desired.
•Experience of dealing with low level system/platform details is highly preferred.
•Ability to thrive in a fast paced, self directed environment. Smart, hands on, willing to learn quickly and move the project forward.
•Strong problem solving skills
•Strong communication skills are required for interaction with team members, senior members of the staff and other organizations.
•Excellent verbal and written English/Chinese communications skills.
Education/Experience

•BS, MS, or PhD? in Computer Science or closely related field
•> 7 years relevant experience, depending on degree
