VMwareTools安装指南（fedora/ubuntu/Redhat linux enterprise）

很多刚开始接触 linux 的朋友，在忍不住好奇的时候，没少对 linux 这个全新的系统有些望而生畏。
一些人坚持着，一些人倒下了，然而还有些聪明的（我认为为是幸运的）准精们，
选择在在 VM 下学习 linux 。当他们兴致勃勃甚至热血沸腾着装完 fedora 或者 ubuntu 后， 有
部分又受挫了，安装 vmware tools ，估计没多少人没少头疼过。
那时候，我也是 ……
前不久在论坛里注册了个 ID ，没事瞎逛，发现不少哥们一直在问关于 vmtools 安装的问题，
突然有些遗憾，就想帮帮这些朋友。毕竟鄙人也是一大老粗，写不出什么好东西，若此处 有
误，还请大家多包含多指教！
废话不说，安装总结如下：

一、 大致过程：
a) VM —— install VMware Tools
b) 系统会自动将 VMtools 镜像插入光驱，并自动挂载。
c) 找到安装文件，安装，配置，重启。
二、 使用 rpm 安装
a) 进入目录
[wenjun@localhost ~]$ cd /
[wenjun@localhost /]$ ls
bin dev home lost+found misc net proc sbin srv tmp var
boot etc lib media mnt opt root selinux sys usr
[wenjun@localhost /]$ cd media
[wenjun@localhost media]$ ls
VMware Tools
[wenjun@localhost media]$ cd \"VMware Tools\"
[wenjun@localhost VMware Tools]$ ls
manifest.txt VMwareTools-7.8.5-156735.tar.gz
VMwareTools-7.8.5-156735.i386.rpm
b) 执行安装命令
i. Fedora 下：
[wenjun@localhost VMware Tools]$ rpm -i VMwareTools-7.8.5-156735.i386.rpm
ii. Ubuntu 下：
alien -i VMwareTools-7.8.5-15735.rpm （你得先安装 alien ）
c) 安装成功
[root@localhost VMware Tools]# rpm -i VMwareTools-7.8.5-156735.i386.rpm
The installation of VMware Tools 7.8.5 for Linux completed successfully.
You can decide to remove this software from your system at any time by
invoking the following command: \"rpm -e VMwareTools\".
Before running VMware Tools for the first time, you need to
configure it for your running kernel by invoking thefollowing command: \"/usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl\".

d) 配置
[root@localhost VMware Tools]# cd /

e) 重启
Reboot
三、 使用 gz 安装
以上是使用 *.rpm 进行安装的，在 ubuntu 下用上面的方法，你可能会遇到问题，因为 你
可能没有安装 alien 。
a) 进入目录，如果刚刚没记住，请往上翻翻
b) 将 *.gz 复制到一个可写的目录下，解压。
i. cp 到目标目录， tar xvzf *.gz
ii. 或者直接右击 *.gz ，解压到一个目录
c) 配置
i. 进入目录 vmware-tools-distrib ： cd vmware-tools-distrib
ii. ./vmware-install.pl
d) 重启
至此，已经安装结束了，至于 vmware tools 有哪些作用，大家到网上搜搜吧，很简单的，只要 知
道就行了。
