The simple answer to your question is YES. You can import zpool on E3500 with Solaris 10 installed. However, I would be very reluctant to use ZFS in production especially if you use cluster. There is a serious ZFS bug. If the zfs metadata is corrupted, the system will panic when importing the zpool. So let\'s say your V890 tries to import the zpool on A5200 with corrupted metadata, it will cause V890 to reboot. Then E3500 in the cluster sees V890 is down, it will try to import the same zpool. And E3500 will reboot. You will end up with all machines keep rebooting. We are told that this problem will be fixed in the next release of Solaris 10 update, which is supposed to come soon. |
