About FIL Dalian
Established in 2007, FIL Technology (Dalian) Limited was the Fidelity’s first wholly owned enterprise in China. The Dalian office initially served as a systems development centre to bolster Fidelity’s growing business in the Asia Pacific region, with a primary focus on providing technology and web-based support and services. The office has continued to expand in recent years and now acts as the central service hub for the Asia Pacific region supporting multiple business functions including systems development and support, systems infrastructure support, retail client services, finance accounting services and investment administration & fund accounting for the Japan business.
Department Overview
Investment Management Technology provides systems development, implementation and support services for Fidelity Investment Managers global Investment Management division. We support Fund Managers, Research Analysts and Traders in all of Fidelity Investment Managers international locations, including London, Hong Kong, Tokyo.
Investment Services & Fund Accounting Technology provides systems development, implementation and application support to Middle Office and Back Office for our Investment Management Business. Some of the key business functions we support are Trade Settlement, Pricing, Reconciliation, Fund Positions, Escrow and Fund Accounting.
Both the groups IM and ISFA have highly business critical applications which need quick response time and timely resolution. The applications use multiple stacks of technologies and are hosted on variety of platforms.
Purpose of your role
The successful candidate would be expected to assist in production support & maintenance of critical Investment Management (IM) applications and Investment Services & Fund Accounting (ISFA) applications with a focus on specific business needs and service oriented approach. The role requires the candidate to be able to do:
1. Incident management: Troubleshoot production issues and find root cause through analysis. Candidate needs to provide resolution OR escalate the incident to appropriate support team within defined service level agreement (SLA). If escalated then drive the resolution by following-up with appropriate support teams until the resolution or recovery is provided to business.
2. Support & Operations: Required to perform routine operational tasks such as critical batch monitoring, morning checks on application’s readiness for business use, health check reports, maintenance tasks etc.
3. Communication and Reporting: Regular communication to business and technology stakeholders through emails, phone, chat etc in English language. Shift handovers to other location’s support team.
The candidate will be part of highly dynamic production support team who will be working very closely with their other location support groups in India and UK to provide follow the sun support services to their business. Candidate should be enthusiastic to work in highly demanding situation under multiple technologies stacks cutting across multiple business domain. Candidate is also required to focus on knowledge sharing amongst fellow team members through various knowledge sharing means such as Training sessions, Clear and Up-to-date documentation available in knowledge sharing repository.
Your key accountabilities
• Support wide range of applications including Charles River (trading platform) & ISFA business applications
• Ability to pick support for more applications and business requirements
• Production support, Incident resolution and driving the Problem management
• Problem analysis and resolution
• Work closely with the India team to understand the requirements of production environment.
• Develop and maintain mappings between source and target systems and data sources
• Liaise with India support team to understand functional implications of changes
• Will be expected to share on-call rotation, work in shifts.
• Should be flexible with time to work early mornings and over weekends.
Your skills and experience
Experience and Qualifications
• Graduate from a reputed University
• 3-5 years of relevant industry experience consisting of 2-3 years in application production support
• Experience of complete project lifecycle execution from Requirements Analysis to Production Support
• Experience of working with multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams.
Essential Technical Skills
• Experience and well versed with Scheduling tools – Autosys OR Control-M. Candidates with knowledge of both the tools will be preferred.
• Well versed with database SQL queries. Should be able to write medium to complex SQL queries
• Familiarity with Oracle database
• Hands on and working knowledge of UNIX, shell scripts (AIX, LINUX preferred)
• Must have used OR aware of Enterprise messaging products (preferably MQ Series and MQ-WMB)
• Technology experience in Service Management
Desirable Technical Skills / Experience (Nice to have)
