Primary Job Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include the identification and resolution of hardware and software technical problems/malfunctions. These responsibilities require 24x7 coverage and response to Solaris/Linux systems alerts during "on-call" periods. In addition, this position will serve as primary escalation point of contact for resolution of server problems/issues. On a daily basis, the role will monitor and respond to systems failures as well as manage scheduled systems processes. Systems analysis will be performed to proactively predict and detect systems errors in order to ensure maximum uptime and service quality. The candidate will work closely with other IT groups in the areas of throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning, with the potential to affect the successful execution of business transactions.
Job Requirements:
1.        Strong skills in Solaris 10 or 11: ZFS, VxFS, Container, Logical Domain, Dtrace.
2.        Strong skills in Linux OS administration
3.        Strong skills in VMware virtualization platform.
4.        Experience with highly available solutions/architectures. Veritas Cluster System preferred.
5.        Experience building and configuring major Internet host/network services including but not limited to: Web (http, SSL, etc.), Mail (Sendmail, etc.), DNS, NFS, NIS/NIS+,LDAP, Databases (Oracle, MySQL) and Java.
6.        Must have strong Perl and/or Shell scripting skills for automation.
7.        Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
