We(DTE) team is a Test Automation Tools team serving the whole software product development community within Oracle, to ensure all the testing of Oracle Cloud services are to be automated, scalable, and in high quality. DTE team owns an in-house framework called DTE (Distributed Topology Environment) which is the central piece of Oracle's software development infrastructure. DTE supports thousands of users(QA engineers, developers and release managers). Over the years, because of DTE framework's efficiency, reliability, usability, flexibility, extensibility and full integration with Oracle's Compute Farm, many software products including FMW, Grid Control, Database, Fusion Applications and Oracle Public Cloud have been relying on DTE for their testing automation and day-to-day software engineering process. DTE team has contributed tremendously to the success of timely releases of many software products in Oracle history. All DTE team members are fully recognized and highly visible in Oracle's software development community. Beyond automating and simplifying software delivery and hosting, we are designing new intelligent services to enhance the customer value of running their business. We are building additional infrastructure to ensure that Oracle Public Cloud is the premiere cloud computing platform in terms of both feature-set and dependability. DTE team is seeking motivated individuals to continue innovating software development infrastructure, to create test automation tools and to help QA/DEV teams applying test automation tools into their software engineering process.  
  
Responsibilities
  
As a senior member of the Testing Automation Tools (DTE) team, you will be responsible for creating testing framework and automation tools for Preflight, High Availability, Security, Enterprise Deployment, and Lifecycle testing, which includes taking an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Specifically, your responsibilities will include the following:
  
·    Research, design and implementation of new features that help testing automation of all the cloud services
·    Discover both simple and complex product defects as a part of normal development/testing process
·    Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design of automation tools
·    Facilitate knowledge sharing by creating and maintaining detailed, comprehensive documentation
·    Analyze, develop and maintain test automation infrastructure and tools
·    Help development community(DEV and QA) to adopt test automation methodology and tools
·    Apply test automation methodology and tools into software engineering process
·    Mentor less knowledgeable team members as needed
  
Qualifications
  
·    A Bachelor's degree is required in the field of Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related fields.
·    At least 2-5 years (Senior), 7 years (Principal) of relevant work experience
·    Engineering experience with the following technologies: Windows, Linux and Oracle Database
·    Strong programming skills using scripting/programming Languages: Bash/Ksh, Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, SQL
·    Strong distributed systems and architecture knowledge and experience
·    Solid experience in web application development
·    Strong diagnostic and analytical skills with proven skills to identify/isolate issues in complex multi-tiered Cloud deployments
·    Deep understanding and commitment to product quality
·    Strong ability to learn new products and technologies & self-motivated
·    Ability to work as an individual contributor and as a team player
·    Strong written and communication and skills
·    Well versed in processes around Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies
  
Preferred qualifications:
  
·   Experience with Git, SVN, or other source control tool.
·   Knowledge of Web technologies, REST, XML, Json.
·   Familiarity with open source cloud and application platforms, cloud-based web application development experience.
·   Good understanding of private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization and global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing and networking, massive data storage, Hadoop, MapReduce, and security.
