bsdforum.org 有一编我觉得很有意思的文张
And third (the main reason i chose BSD), the BSD culture is one of the best, once i read this phrase in a forum: Windows users ask "What?", Linux users ask "How?", BSD users ask "Why?"
What this means is that windows users, don't care about the problem as long as they can buy something that fixes it (if your car leaks, buy a new one), the linux users instead just go and buy some duct tape and stop the leak, instead the BSD users, go under the car, look at the broken piece and go and change the faulty pipe.
Why pick FreeBSD over Linux? Simple: with FreeBSD, you can spend your time programming, and not have to worry about how the system is configured. With Linux, you'll spend most of your time keeping everything working, fixing all the issues that the last update to <program X>; caused, and keeping up with the new releases of everything in the distro every 2 weeks.
Plus, you get a system that is designed as a whole, designed to work together. With Linux, you get 200 different packages, built by 150 different groups, with 350 different ideas on what a Linux distro should look like, all glued together by some guy somewhere who thought it'd be neat to have his name next to Linux and distro.
