.toc这个文件什么时候生成，怎么使用的？

按书上解释.toc文件是用inutoc 命令创建的。如果没有.toc的话intallp可以自动创建.toc文件。  这个问题是否是因为在新的patch被下载以后，.toc文件未被更新？ 这样c 是否也有道理。  那b选项是什么意思啊？

查了一下资料inutoc创建.toc文件,installp使用.toc文件去执行安装,所以答案应该是C咯?对吗?
