oracle10g 新手登陆问题

redhat AS 3.0 + oracle10g    内存256M 交换 1400M
安装完oracle10g后 测试 内存和交换分区都没有问题
用dbca建立了一个数据库后 用sqlplus进入
输入默认的用户名 sys ;system 等都无法进入
出现错误
RA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory
请那位朋友帮忙看一下

$sqlplus "/as sysdba"
startup

谢谢 这个命令是不是启动数据库？
我由于没有基础 书上也没写  这块有点衔接不上
