Job Summary
As part of a team develop software tools to determine compatibility of non-Sun hardware with Sun's Solaris operating system. This is a challenging role that will allow you to hone your skills.


Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

*Develop software tools for testing compatibility of non-Sun hardware with Sun's Solaris operating system

*File bugs both in the OS and in the testing suite as appropriate


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

-Exceptional problem solving skills
-Must be able to deal with customer requests for information.
-High familiarity with Unix-like operating environment
-Basic understanding of UNIX kernel internals
-Experience with C/C++,
-Experience with Perl, shell, PHP, or other script programming,
-Highly developed teamwork and interpersonal skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

-Bachelor's Degree or higher in Science or Engineering

REQUIRED LANGUAGE:

-Fluent written and spoken English

Useful additions:

- Unix system administration, and PC hardware knowledge
- Fluency in Chinese



2.Linux Sr. Developer/Manager
Responsible for the specification, design, implementation, integration, support, and debugging of various Linux components, ranging from embedded device drivers, board support packages, and boot images for thin clients. Implementation will typically be done for the Linux operating system in the C language and Power PC assembly language.
Responsibilities:
§        Responsible for all aspects of development including specification, design, scheduling, implementation, unit test, and interaction with system verification and technical publications
§        Responsible for reviewing and contributing to hardware functional specifications in areas where hardware decisions impact the software
§        Development and execution of unit test plans that will be reviewed and approved by peers
§        Effective communication with other team members and other groups
§        Self-motivated and take full responsibility for deliverables
§        Work with QA team and field engineers to resolve Linux (OS and applications) issues during testing and certification
Requirements:
§        BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
§        4+ years of experience in Unix/Linux software development
§        Experienced in the development and integration of complicated hardware and software systems
§        In-depth understanding of hardware/software interactions and system management
§        Understanding of procedures to build and modify the Linux kernel
§        Proficient experience on device driver development on Red Hat Linux
§        Knowledge and experience of debugging complicated bugs on Linux platforms
§        Good working knowledge of source code version control system
§        Good working knowledge of various C compilers
§        Basic shell scripting
§        Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
§        Minimum Education: Bachelor
§        Years of Experience: 3-5 Years
