2) i choose the zh_CN.utf8, but I could not start the iiim server, to use Chinese input
3)pkg-get could not find mirror in edu net of China,
4)
how to active chinese inupt?
using the install cd 1 , install the sol-10-GA
nov 21 2005
summerbreeze.xjtu.edu.cn
1) using the cd1(v1) to boot from cdrom
before that you should make an primary partiontion, using linux fdik(it was the most easy tools)
mark it with solaris ID, also make it active, (the partitoin ID is equal to the linux swap)
they the sol-installer would find it, and also would not take up the whole disk.
Warning: if you did not have the second harddisk, it would be much risky.
2) there are four type of installation, 2-4 is GUI
you should read some passage about "how to install the sol10 in chinaunix/linuxsir", first
during the install process, pay attention!!
(1)don't not choose the companion CD, and document CD,for we got only 5CDs(v1-v4,lang)
later when it prompt for the locate to find the the CD, you must choose none,
I failed for the first time, jsut for that things, perhaps, there must be ohter reason
but just save your time.
(2) after you had finished the installation of CD1, it would restart to CDE
to continue the last 4CDs installation
choose the nfs to install it(how to do mount the iso file ,see below in details)
to finish the nfs_path
try: 127.0.0.1:/share_path, yet it did not work,
then I used it /share_path, it was OK
(3)to boot the sol-10
try using the grub,
or just set the first boot device as your harddisk(here is IDE1)in BIOS
also you should make the sol partition active first.
******************understand the disk name of solaris***********************
i use the the second harddisk as the slave of first IDE controller,(/dev/dsk/c0d1)
hint: there could be four primary partition in one disk.
we could see in the /dev/dsk, /dev/dsk/c0d1p0-p4, p0 meaning all the disk, p1 equal to hdb1( in linux), /dev/dsk/c0d1s0-s15 mean just in the solaris primary partitoin it was devied into 16 slice
(just like the FreeBSD), however it take only one primary in the four possible ones
/dev/dsk/c0d1p3:c, it meaned that was the first logical driver in the extention partition(px, x=1-4), c meaned the first one.
/dev/dsk/c0d1s0 it was equal to /dev/dsk/c0d1px:c, for these was only one solaris
**********************************************************************************
***********************************boot from grub*********************************
after the second reboot, I could not boot, for it could not find the bootable kernel
I use the grub to boot it, quite easy
in the menu.lst
we need not to map the hd0 to hd1, just do that,
title sol 10 GA boot manager
rootnonverify (hd1,x)
chainloader+1
I also tried the #dd , to make it booted from the ntldr.(boot.ini),
**********************************************************************************
**********************************to add the iso file ***************************
mount -F pcfs(vfat in linux) /dev/dsk/c0d1px:y /mnt
lofiadm -a(add the file as a block device, in linux we need not do that, the kernel does it for us)
<path_to_iso.iso> /dev/lofi/n
HINT: 'n' would be only the digital, without any char.
mount -F hsfs(iso9660 in linux) /dev/lofi/n /mnt-point
share -F nfs /mnt-point
************************************************************************************
I could not startx(no such command), just type #gdm command
****************************************player Problem:**************************************
1) get out of silent world
