数据库备份的问题

昨晚上备份数据库到磁带上，本来20多分钟就备份完的，可昨天20多分钟才备份了20％还不到，不知道会是啥原因引起的？另外数据库容量应该和以前差不多大，磁带也是新。大家是否也遇到同样的问题？还请赐教。谢谢。

曾经在 sco unix IDS7.31UC5 碰到过，onstat -D 看有很多的磁盘写操作，
onstat -m 看checkpoint 时间很长。备份时间比正常时长好几倍。

To my knowledge 7.30 is not supported anymore and I strongly suggest you
cantact IBM to get an upgrade version . (7.31, 9.4 or even 10.00)

Apart from that from your description it appears you are hit Informix
defect

ARCHIVE PERFORMANCE DEGRADATION WHEN MANY CALLS TO
ARC_VERY_OLD_PAGE()

The defect causes archives to run very slow , in case many updates have
happend
between two L-0 archives.

This defect is fixed in IDS 7.31.UD1  and higher and in 9.4 and 10.00.
