Linux positions:
- Linux/Unix device driver experience
- Linux/Unix kernel debugging experience
- Familiar with debuggers such as adb, kdb
- Familiar with core dump analysis
- Familiar with kernel: device configuration, device driver, filesystem, memory managment, process synchronization, networking, kernel startup code etc.
- experience in bringup a hardware platform/motherboard
- basic knowledge about the BIOS and how it interacts with the OS
- Knows about RPM package, how to generate packages and driver distribution modules
- Knows about the difference between RedHat/SusE distributions
- Knows how to release bug fixes back to the community (at least the process)
- knowledge of x86 architecture, chipsets such as Nvidia/AMD/Marvell
+ knowledge of bus protocols such as PCI/PCIe, USB, SATA etc.
+ AMD x86 experience a plus
- source revision control tools such as CVS
- knows how Linux installation works
Solaris positions:
- in general same as Linux
- Knows how the Solaris patches process works
- Knows how to modify Solaris installation images
- source revision control tools such as SCCS
SP (Service Processors) positions:
- In general same as Linux
- must know IPMI protocol
- embedded Linux experiences
- PowerPC architecture knowledge a plus
BIOS positions:
- actual experience in BIOS development
- knows about ACPI
- knows about how BIOS interact with the OS
- experience in bringup of a hardware platform/motherboard
- familiary with bus protocols such as PCI/PCIe, USB etc
- knowledge of x86 architecture, chipsets such as Nvidia/AMD/Marvell
- AMD x64 experience a plus
Windows positions:
- knowledge of x86 architecture
- must know how to generate Windows driver installation packages
- Windows systems debugging experience
- windows driver development a plus
- WHQL certification process
General Qualities
-Can communicate in English
-Have a desire to leave current job
-Have a desire to join at least another company at least, if not Sun
-Have clear idea in mind to find what he/she wants, at least we
need to know what he/she is looking for and matches what we are offering
(ie susbtaining position in software)
