Position Title: Unix/Linux/Storage & Data Base Analyst

Primary Functions:

.
•        Unix/Linux Common Technical Environment administration
•        Work with EIS staff to design and implement Unix/Storage solutions
•        NetApp filer & Veritas backup administration
•        Owner of the IS portion of COPC’s disaster recovery plan, responsible for testing
•        Assist with EIS project implementations
•        End-user training
•        Security auditing on Unix/Linux systems
•        Data base design and administration
•        System architecture and design

Critical Skills:
•        BS/MS in Information Technology, Engineering, and/or other relevant discipline
•        4+ years relevant experience in Information Technology and system analysis
•        Strong analytical skills and business/system requirements analysis experience.
•        Experience with NetApp filer or other devices
•        Practical experience with tape library, Veritas Netbackup and disaster recovery planing
•        Experience with Oracle database administration
•        Knowledge/experience with system rollouts, familiar with as-is modelling, to-be modelling, gap analysis, and change management
•        Very strong User-facing skills (interfacing with Chinese or foreign business users), ability to manage user expectations
•        Project mgmt experience desirable
•        Excellent English: CET Level-6 and speak fluent English, a MUST!

Job Description

The Manager of Engineering is responsible for leading a team of software engineers to develop software products based on WLCP platform, for the telecommunications industry and 3G network operators.

This manager will be chartered to create or tailor the software process for the development effort; to monitor and control the project status; to create a teamwork environment and to enforce software engineering disciplines throughout the product's software life cycle; to document best engineering practices for carrier grade-application development.

You'll be working with Java, J2EE, web services, Platform, Parlay/Parlay X and/or IMS, SIP technologies, and various third party software applications.

This manager will lead and manage his/her team to succeed with numerous initiatives designed to improve the usability and quality of  product suite. The candidate should have a proven track record in being able to work independently to organize large-scale development projects.


Qualifications/Necessary Skills：

The manager of engineering should be entrepreneurial and enthusiastic about developing and shipping great software. The candidate should have:

        Proven success as the development manager or lead developer of a piece of enterprise software, and an understanding of the software process;

        At least 3 years' engineering management experience, and experience with a software product across the lifecycle;

        Extensive background knowledge of the telecommunications industry, in terms of industry standards and network technologies, in either the NEP sector or the carrier sector;

        Excellent listening and collaboration skills, and the ability to coordinate teams across organizational boundaries;

        Experience collaborating with talented engineers and an understanding of technologies such as application servers, Web services, and the Windows and Unix platforms;

        An attention to detail and an ability to absorb and assimilate information rapidly;

        Excellent written, presentation, and sales skills; An ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers;

Title: PincipalTechnologist


RESPONSIBILITIES:
•        Lead and coordinate a small engineers group (3-4 persons) for design and development
•        Design detail architecture for a module or a package following high level architecture decided by Chief architect
•        Write functional and technical specifications for product features
•        Code and unit test product features
•        Diagnose and fix product problems/bugs
•        Review product documentation
•        Provide input to QA team on design and development of system tests
REQUIREMENTS:
•        MS/PhD Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
•        Extensive Telco Standards, 3GPP, Parlay, Parlay X, OSA, IMS core network, SIP, SS7, CAMEL, OSA
•        Media Server, Application Server, Web Service
•        China Mobile, China Telecom, Service Broker, architecture, expert, BUPT, research.
•        Detailed knowledge of Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) programming
•        Detailed knowledge of Relational database and SQL programming
•        High proficiency in J2EE programming including RMI, JDBC, JMS
•        Experience with UNIX (one of Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX) and Windows
•        6-8 years of commercial software development experience on preference in telecom domain (Telecom operator, Telecom equipment supplier…etc)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
•        You will be part of a small, tightly knit and agile team of developers who build the WebLogic Communication Platform – a product family for telecom operators.
Major responsibilities:
•        Review of functional and design specifications.
•        Test plan and test case design.
•        Development of tests, and QA process improvement.  The development environment is based on CORBA/Java, Webservice, Java/J2EE.

Additional responsibilities:
•        Status reports to management.
•        Development of project test plans.
•        Analyzing risk trade-offs.

REQUIREMENTS:

•        MS Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
•        Basic knowledge of Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) programming
•        Basic knowledge of Relational database and SQL programming
•        Experience with UNIX (one of Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX) and Windows
•        1-2 years of commercial software QA experience or MS degree students with good school stage project experience  
•        Experiences with JSR 175 – Metadata Facility for Java is a plus
•        Some minimum CORBA knowledge
