Software Development – Principal Software Development Engineers
Responsibilities                                               
Will serve as a technical lead driving our most demanding, cross functional projects.   
Leads design reviews to solutions for complex systems.
Significant role in career development of others.  Actively mentors individuals and the engineering community on advanced technical issues.  Helps managers evaluate career growth of other engineers.  

Complexity of Work/Independence

Accountable for the quality of architecture and design of systems. Delivers designs that are robust and stable.
Using broad expertise or unique knowledge, contributes to the development of company objectives and principles to achieve goals.
Work demonstrates significant creativity and judgment.

Knowledge and Skills/Business Acumen/Education and Experience
Played a technical leadership role for several complete product cycles.  Has built and owned large systems.
Skilled at functionally decomposing complex problems into simple, straight forward solutions.
Go-to person in at least one major functional or technical area and has exported their knowledge to others.
Expertly understands system interdependencies and limitations.
Identifies and solves technology related bottlenecks.
Expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.

Makes appropriate build vs. buy decisions.  Leverages knowledge of internal and industry prior art. Effectively researches and benchmarks our technology against other competing systems in the industry.
Brings business context to decisions made within and across groups.

REVIEW PROCESS
•        Promotion recommendation document must contain peer feedback from at least one principal engineer (may substitute feedback from a high functioning SDE III)
•        CTO reviews the slate
•        Promotion recommendation is reviewed at the S-Team member’s promotion review meeting.   At least one principal from the S-team member’s organization participates in the promotion review for principals.


Senior Software Developer: (head count: 2)
Responsibility:
This company is seeking senior Software Development Engineer to lead the development of highly available, highly scalable e-commerce applications. The applicant must have proven track record of large-scale software design and development. The applicant must be able to independently complete system design and architecture, and to produce design documents and technical specifications. The applicant must have good communications skills as he/she is expected to work closely with Project Manager, Business Owner and cross-functional teams. The applicant must be able to lead and mentor junior engineers.
This job provides opportunity to work with it’s global development teams.

Summary of Qualifications:
•        Enthusiasm for solving interesting and complex problems.
•        Extensive experience programming in C++/Java with outstanding OO design skills.
•        Proven system architecture and design experiences, especially with multi-tiered and distributed systems. Capable of evaluating trade-off for various approaches and drive design decisions.
•        Experience in relational database design and application development. Solid in system performance and scaling fundamentals.
•        Proficient in English: both in writing and speaking.
•        Knowledge of XML web services, and agile development methodologies desired.
•        Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus 5-8 years of experience. At least one year of experience in job offered or related occupation must involve the architecting and developing of high-performance.
