Since you have all internal disks, you must use disk management software to implement RAID. You can use Sun Logical Volume Manager (also called Solstice Disk Suite, SDS) to do it. It is free and comes with Solaris. However, to create a RAID5 using these three physical disks is very difficult since most of the disk management software doesn't support root partition on RAID5. What you can do is to cut out partitions on the first disk to use as root and swap and leave the rest of the space to form a RAID5 with the partitions on the other two disks. It should be good enough for your practice purpose. Seach the forum for SDS, disk suite or go to docs.sun.com to find document for Sun Logical Volume Manager or Disk Suite. |
