1. Cable Software/QA engineer
Internal Job Description:
CRDC Cable DevTest team seeks a Software/QA Engineer to design and develop vehicles that validate the functionality and quality of Cisco CMTS under customer-like environments.  The ideal candidates should have extensive hands-on experience, be familiar with Networking / Network protocols, and understand fundamental testing methodology.

The Software/QA engineer will be responsible for developing test plans / test cases, performing manual tests, and scripting (utilizing TCL and ATS/AutoEasy) for Cable CMTS features.  The Software/QA engineer should also be capable of  troubleshooting and fixing lab set up.

This position requires a BS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent and 2-3 years of industry experience.  An individual not only self-motivated but also a good team player with good interpersonal skills (in Mandarin and in English).  Product experience on CMTS, DOCSIS, PacketCable, BACC; Protocol experience on TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, network management applications is a plus.  Experience with testing equipments such as Pagent, SmartBits, and/or IXIA is also a plus.

2. Product Operation Manager
Responsibilities      
·         Onsite Management (solid line and dotted line) of the Product Operations employees based in Northern China (Shanghai)·         Primary day-to-day interface with the Cisco CDO China Research and Development Center  (CRDC)
·         Team with the CDO to define competitive manufacturing solutions for new products
·         Define sourcing solutions for new products
·         Management of product life cycle through all phases of manufacturing
·         Manage Manufacturability (DFM) Analysis on new products
·         Manage Design for Reliability (DFR) Analysis
·         Partner with the CDO and DPOs to define Test Strategy for new products and implement the test solution
·         Provide a Value Engineering Roadmap and drive VE projects
·         Provide Product Engineering Support to Mfg Ops
·         Support Defect Reduction Teams with product-specific expertise as necessary
·         Drive Product Improvements·         Provide Design For (manufacturability, testability, reliability, etc.) rules that evolve and improve
·         Work with the CDO and DPOs to provide product transition plans and roadmaps
·         Support Product Failure Analysis escalations as necessary
·         Establish and build relationships with key partner/CM engineering teams
·         Build relationships with global Prod Ops teams to ensure local skills, capacity and capabilities are aligned to meet demands Skills Required      
·         Broad experience in Manufacturing
·         Product quality
·         Supply chain Management
·         Strong balance of supply chain management, operations management and product and process technology
·         Expertise in new product introduction processes
·         Understanding of factory operations and planning
·         Able to define and drive cost improvement initiatives
·       Advanced leadership skills
·         Ability to lead an org of 50+ people, including managing managers
·        Identify & drive solutions in ambiguous situations
·        Communication skills written and oral applied to multiple levels (executive, customer, individual contributor)
·        Successfully drives change with view to long-term goals
·        Attention to detail in order to achieve very complex results
·        Ability to influence an engineering organization from the position of a manufacturing organization (credibility, technical savvy, communication)
·        Knowledge of computer networking and electronics manufacturing is helpfulEducation Required      
·         Min. of Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field
·         Graduate degree preferred
·         MBA preferred
·         10-15 years experience in the development of complex electronic products
·         5 years directly-applicable manufacturing experience required

3. ET Software Engineer

Job Requirement

Working with a team of engineers involved in the development of a software product targeting IP protection and information leakage prevention.  
Write design specifications and functional specifications.
Design and develop software in a UNIX / Linux environment.
Perform well-defined unit, product level integration, and dev tests.
Understand underlying networking technology of the related projects.
Strong UNIX, C (or C++), Java, and script programming experience is essential.
Strong problem solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication, team and people skills.
Has the ability to cope in changing and ambiguous circumstances. Encourages and accepts personal feedback.
Typically requires MSEE/CS or equivalent training with 4-6+ yrs related experience.


4. Admin Assistant
Responsibilities      
·         Assists and/or leads the BU's Administrative meetings and formulating of department practices/policies.  
·         Uses experience and good judgment to take initiative in facilitating Cisco programs, policies and procedures.  
·         Acts as a liaison for the director in the coordination of office-type activities
·         Deals professionally with sensitive and confidential matters and materials
·         Manages day-to-day administrative processes associated with front office and team coordination with little to no supervisory input.  ·         Often is required to recommend process improvements and innovations for the unit.   
Skills Required      
·         Advanced level knowledge of Windows desktop computer applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
·         Ability to navigate web and email at high competency knowledge.
·         Familiarity with a desktop calendar management program.
·         Ability to format presentations and use financial programming applications.
·         Generally receives no instruction on routine tasks and very little instruction on new projects.
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is Must. Communicates effectively with a diverse population, including high level managers and clients. Mentors junior Administrative Assistants.
·         Participates in the Business Unit's team meeting of other Administrators to share information and network.
·       Back-up support in absence of other AA's.
·        Responsible for solving problems of a complex nature based on experience and knowledge consulting directors or other management staff on decisions affecting budget, business, etc.
·       Technical Knowledge of Desktop Applications.  
·       Teamwork. Champions Improvements. Doing More with Less. Solve Problems & Make DecisionsEducational / Experience background           ·         6-8+ years experience supporting at the Executive level working in administrative environment or combination of education and experience.
·         Ability to function in a very high paced environment.  
·        Experience in planning meetings, coordinating travel and formatting presentations.
·         Ability to make sound decisions. Preferred: AA/BA or equivalent experience.  
·         Familiarity with HTML and web development, database tracking

正真有点技术含量的是不会放到中国来研发的,中国人一般都做一些打杂的事情

也不是真的这样,如果中国人都能做,他们得省多少钱啊。

但是一个几十亿上百亿美金的产品,即便你说能做,他就敢一下子全都让你做吗?

事情是一点点发展的,迟早很多核心技术也拿到中国,只要我们证明我们可以做到。

  大连INTEL就是这样,美国政府只允许INTEL把要淘汰的技术输入中国,所以核心技术是无法引进的

不是所有的核心技术都有出口限制的,以前Solaris 8开源的时候,源代码都不让给中国人下载。

现在操作系统的核心技术基本上已经不受出口限制了,也就是说,如果思科,微软和SUN把自己的操作系统的核心部分拿到中国做,基本上是没问题的。

现在很大的问题是,在中国未必能招到那么多合格的内核开发人员,这到不是说中国没有人才,即便有,也未必都能碰巧被公司招聘到。

在操作系统开发这块,国内迟早会赶上美国的,只是时间的问题。

   我觉得OS的核心技术之所以不受限制,主要是因为LINUX的核心是开源的,所以美国人再那么搞没有什么意思

   说,‘操作系统开发这块,国内迟早会赶上美国的,只是时间的问题’ 觉得太乐观了,呵呵

   美国对中国的高科技产品出口都管制的非常严格,更别说核心技术了,那是人家赖以生存和发展的基础,前段时间听说SGI不行了,美国人宁可他倒闭也不能卖给中国,即便是IBM PCD卖给中国的时候,还是有很多限制条件,好象有一个是美国IMB PCD的研发中心不允许中国人进入,

   如果想学技术,觉得HW应该还可以,虽然名声不太好,(自己猜的)

   在第二届中国北京研发机构国际论坛上,北京软件产业促进中心主任胡青华就忧心忡忡地表示,根据中心的一份调研报告显示,跨国研发机构在融入和带动本地发展方面还存在“四多四少”的问题,即本地化开发多,关键核心技术研究少;人员现场服务多,研发本地分包少;低端加工多,合作研发少;内部技术转移多,知识产权转移少。

从上面的分析中我们可以看到,跨国公司在华的研发中心目的是直接指向中国市场的。跨国公司在华设立研发中心并不是要在中国发展和引进技术,而主要是服务市场需求。从这个意义上来说,中国目前尽管研发中心众多,但是与中国期望成为研发中心还相距甚远。这一点中国企业不能不警醒。

同时,在中国低廉成本和市场需求下,外资企业受优惠政策所吸引纷纷在华建立研发中心,一旦这些优势不复存在,外资研发中心会不会搬迁到中国以外的地区?几年内,外资研发中心是否依然这么热闹?这也是一个令人警惕的问题,业内专家不禁发问说。
