Solaris 有很多模块，你的系统也不一定会用到solaris的所有模块。

一般情况下，根据你的系统所需要用到的solaris模块对solaris进行最小安装。有些必须安装但你的系统又用不到的服务，你可以禁止这些服务的运行或者进行一些特殊设置。

打补丁首先是根据Sun的建议，把一些关键补丁先全部打上去，然后把你系统所用到的模块相关的补丁打上去。而某些模块又可以细分为很多功能，这些补丁可能是针对该模块的某个功能的，每个补丁都有相关的说明文档，你可以根据补丁的说明文档来决定是否打该补丁。

另：一个大的工程，应该有专人去做这一块的，一线施工的工程师只需要根据列表进行实施就可以了。

We never do that for our systems. Patches are not always good. There are patches fix one problem but introduce three more. We want to make sure all patches are examed and/or tested before getting onto the servers. There are basically two different philosophies. One is if nothing breaks, don't fix it. This group of people will never apply patches unless something is not working any more. The other group of people will proactively evaluate patches, say every 6 to 12 monthes and apply the appropriate patches even nothing is breaking.

建议补丁是必须的，其它补丁在需要的时候再打，比如安装应用软件等。

最简单是找sun工程师弄个eis dvd, 里面有gfiffon和explorminor, 跑个explorer然后跑一下这2个软件清单就有了

现有的patch cluster版本在uname -a里, 具体的patch在/var/sadm/patch里

一般只安装recommended patch cluster,
其他的有需要才安装

呵呵，让SOLARIS 10自己检测自己需要那些补丁，它不是有这个功能吗？我一直在用。
