i am a student,no one have changed my password of root! i hava used solaris10 for a long time with no problems! but i can not login in today! why ??? i know how to delete root passwd in failsafe mode. i only want to know why i can not login in with no changing of password of root! is password of root expired???

i didn't have the root right of the mathine but i wana run the eclipse which needs the jdk 1.4.2 on my solaris .and the default jdk on the solaris 8 is jdk 1.2. so how can i make my eclipse run normaly without the right of root ?

Since there are 4 desktop in redhat, i want to one of them to be root, others are general user in these desktop. But i do know to make use of "su" to be a root. And this is only invalid in terminal, not in desktop Window. How can i do ?

新添加的普通用户都可以TELNET到系统上，但就是root用户不可以。在我安装PROFTPD以前是正常的。PROFTPD安装配置好后，FTP到是正常的。PROFTPD的配置只是增加如下几个dir: Defaultroot ~ use Serverident off PassivePorts 60000 65535 ./proftpd -t 也是正常通过，没有报错。 请指点一二，谢谢！
