vm4.5.2-build8848安装sco5.0.7出现的怪现象

我用vm4.5.2-build8848 for windows。机器硬件为康柏PC(desktop evo)
P4 1.6 CPU 安装了SCO5.0.7(无6%错版本)，能顺利成功安装，但按ctrl-D进入多用户时出现了一个错误：UX:p6update: ERROR: update failed，请高手明示。但我在PIII机器上安装却没有这个错误。

UX: p6update是什么东东，怎么查？安装了sco 5.0.7的mp3补丁后，这个问题依然出现。
在同的环境下，我装sco5.0.6也没出现这样的问题。

find / -name p6update -print查一下这个文件在哪个目录下。

在/etc 下有一个p6update，是一个可执行文件，连到/opt/K/SCO/Unix/5.0.7Hw/etc
在/etc/inittab 文件中有这么一行：
p6u:234:bootwait:/etc/p6update </dev/console >;/dev/console 2>;&1

请问：p6update 是干什么用的，对系统有什么影响。在/etc/inittab文件封掉行不行，即
#p6u:234:bootwait:/etc/p6update </dev/console >;/dev/console 2>;&1
