好文章啊 不过我现在正在学着使用ntop 也是很不错的 而且似乎更加容易上手^_^

ntop的工作原理不一样。ntop是通过抓包来对流量进行统计，而cacti通过snmp。我所以一般将ntop用在网关或独立的机器上。

不过两者都通过rrdtool绘图。

cacti从0.4.8g版本开始支持mysql5数据库

我用net-snmp的tar包安装，例如net-snmp-5.2.1.tar.gz，安装之后发现没有HOST-RESOURCES-MIB - -！
请教怎样安装才可以？

按照LZ的方法安装完毕，没有错误，但是在RRA目录下没有文件，导致在界面上无法显示图片，是何原因？已经用snmpget、snmpwalk试过，可以采集到数据的。

我的CACTI也是安装好之后无法生成图形。查看RRA目录下面没有.rrd文件。手工执行
/usr/local/php/bin/php /usr/local/www/htdocs/cacti/poller.php的时候显示这样的错误：

另外想问一下编译PHP的时候是否需要带--with-php-snmp（不大记得是不是了）这样的参数？
